1. Introduction
GOAT operates the GOAT mobile application (the “App”) and related services, including the website goatcards.app (together, the “Service”). The App was previously named “Sabio”, and the earlier name may still appear on the App Store and on some purchase screens. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used and protected, and the choices you have. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account and User ID
An anonymous account with a unique User ID is created automatically when you first open the App. It keeps your collection together so that it can be backed up, synced and restored. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account identifier from that provider and — only if you share them — your name and email address.
2.2 Cards and Collections
The App stores the photos of the cards you scan or pick from your library, the card details and price estimates generated for them, and what you add yourself: collection names and descriptions, edits, notes, asking prices and favorites (“User Content”). User Content is kept on your device and backed up to our cloud storage. You retain ownership of your User Content. To identify a card and estimate its value, its photos and any hint text you type are sent to our AI providers (see section 9). Copies of the photos uploaded for identification are stored without your User ID.
2.3 Public Profile
A public profile is optional. If you set one up, we store the display name and nickname you choose and, if you add one, a contact detail: an email address, a WhatsApp number, or an Instagram, Facebook, X or eBay account. Your nickname becomes the address of your public page (goatcards.app/your-nickname). The contact detail is published only if you turn that option on.
2.4 Shared Pages
When you share a collection, a single card or your whole vault from the App, a public snapshot is published to a page on goatcards.app. It contains the cards you selected — their photos, details, grades, AI analysis and estimated values — together with your public profile. Asking prices are not published. Anyone with the link can view the page. Shared pages are excluded from search-engine indexing. You can stop sharing in the App at any time, which takes the page down; a cached copy may stay reachable for a few minutes. Links created from an account that is not signed in with Apple or Google expire after 90 days.
2.5 Purchases
Subscriptions are bought through your Apple Account. We receive the status and history of your GOAT Pro subscription (plan, purchase and renewal dates) through our subscription provider. We never receive your payment card details.
2.6 Device and Diagnostic Data
The App and the services it relies on collect technical data needed to run the Service: device model, operating system and app version, language and region; crash reports linked to your User ID; a device attestation token that protects our servers from abuse; views of and taps on subscription screens; and, if you allow notifications, a push notification token. The number of free scans you have used is kept in your device’s Keychain.
2.7 Support Requests
Contacting support is optional. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message so that we can respond.
2.8 Website Visitors
Our websites do not use cookies or analytics. Like any website, their hosting providers keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
2.9 Tracking
We do not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Identifying the cards you scan and estimating their value
- Storing, backing up, syncing and restoring your collection
- Publishing the pages you choose to share and showing your public profile on them
- Managing your subscription and granting GOAT Pro features
- Keeping the Service secure, preventing abuse and fixing crashes
- Measuring how our subscription screens perform
- Responding to support requests
- Legal compliance and protection of our rights
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Information is shared only:
- With the service providers listed in section 9, strictly to operate the Service
- Publicly, when you share a page or set up a public profile — limited to what sections 2.3 and 2.4 describe
- When required for legal compliance, lawful requests, or to protect our rights
5. Data Retention
Your collection, its photo backups and your profile remain until you delete them or delete your account. Deleting your account from the App’s Settings screen removes your account, your collection and its photo backups from our servers and takes down every page you shared. Photos uploaded for identification are stored separately, without your User ID. Subscription records are kept by Apple and our subscription provider as required for billing. Support emails are retained as necessary to resolve your inquiry or to comply with legal obligations.
6. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no system can guarantee absolute security.
7. Children’s Privacy
GOAT is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information. In the App you can edit or clear your public profile, stop sharing any page, and delete your account and associated data from the Settings screen. Notifications can be turned off in iOS Settings. For any other request, contact us at mobileband365@gmail.com.
9. Service Providers
We rely on the following providers to deliver the Service. Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy:
- Apple — App Store purchases, Sign in with Apple and notification delivery
- Google (Firebase and Google Sign-In) — sign-in, database, file storage, crash reports, notifications, abuse protection and website hosting
- Anthropic and OpenAI — AI analysis of card photos and hint text, used to identify cards and estimate values
- RevenueCat — subscription status
- Superwall — subscription screens
The Service may link to third-party websites, such as marketplace listings. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party websites or apps. Please review their privacy policies separately.
10. International Use
Our servers are located in the United States, and our service providers may process data in other countries. By using the Service, you consent to such international transfers.
11. Updates to Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the App or on this page, and the “Last Updated” date above will be revised. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
